Sun Behind the Clouds
As the clouds blanket the rising sun,
So does loneliness fill my wounded heart.
The pinch of cold sadness,
Creeps deep down into my soul.
The feeling of emptiness engulfs me,
Giving chills to every part of my body.
My eyes feel heavy, tears about to fall.
I’m trying to hold them back and be cool.
I know the sun still shines behind the clouds.
And it won’t be long ’til I see it again.
It won’t be long ’til the beautiful azure,
Shows itself to this gloomy soul once more.
Then the sunbeam will quietly peep through,
Slowly effacing the clouds on the blue sky.
Then the silver-lining of hope will come into view,
And joy will fill my heart as I look up with delight.
